Brushless Motors (SL-EC)

Heinzmann Brushless Motor Type SL-EC

Brushless disc ⁄ disk motors of the SL-EC series require minimum mounting space, are maintenance-free and available in a large range of rated voltages. The magnet-carrying rotor may be used as direct drive in isolation from the environment. This makes the SL-EC series ideal for compact and robust custom specific applications.

Structure:

The new HEINZMANN brushless disc motors are axial flow motors excited by permanent magnets. They differ primarily from the previous brushed disc motors in two respects: Instead of the copper winding and the mechanical commutator, the rotor has the magnets fixed in a steel guide or in a pole ring. The stator carries the copper winding which is housed in a packet of iron sheets. Commutation is done electronically with Hall sensors, resolver and encoder.

Flat:

SL-EC motors are built very flat, in particular variants with one-sided stator (SL-EC 11 B). This saves mounting space in axial direction.

Powerful:

The advantages of the large air gap area of disc motors, coupled with the winding housed in iron packets, allow high torque and a powerful motor with high efficiency. In the variant SL-EC 22B this effect is further enhanced by the use of two stators and doubled magnets yielding a powerful operating range housed in a compact device.

Dynamic:

With their self-supporting magnets, SL-EC motors with two stators have a low inertial torque and are well suited for dynamic applications. In addition, they have a minimal detent torque allowing precise and easy control of dynamic servo drives.

Maintenance-free and durable:

Having replaced the mechanical commutator with electronic commutation, SL-EC motors are maintenance-free. Service-life is limited only by the bearings. Depending on dimensioning of the bearings, the motors allow up to 20,000 operating hours. Our durable motors are designed for operation in the most diverse environments.

Versatile:

HEINZMANN SL-EC motors are available in many other versions besides the ones presented here. They are built as servo drives or slow running motors with high torque in different variants. The series is produced with explosion-proof or high protection grade, with air or water cooling. Various types are available with a full or hollow shaft and as assembly kits for machine integration.

HEINZMANN SL-EC motors provide the optimal solution.
